Bought a Gold Tone banjo today and I made a huge mistake. Ok. This lady posted a Gold Tone banjo on Craigslist yesterday for $200 bucks. the pictures showed the bottom and top of the banjo and nothing else but the case. it all looked great.. I assumed it was a 5 string. Being that 2 strings were broke and she had not used it in many years and said it was in great shape.. well we set up a meeting place that I would pick up . it came in a case and I met her where she worked. she was to come out and drop the 5 string banjo off to me. I was in a bit of a hurry and didnt bother to open the case, again assumming it was a 5 string. Well i get home to set it up take it out of the case and BAM its a 4 string. Lesson learned. always open the case and check no matter how busy you are. Anyway my bad. My question is there a market for theses? Im just going to take it to Music go round and see if I can trade it for a 5 stringer....lol I looked it up its a Gold Tone CC-PLECTRUM . but the ones i have seen all have a resonater. this one dont. but maybe because its older it didnt come with one back then. any way. Always check the case....
$200 Bopper?!......play that 4 string as is.......you're going to love it!
I wouldn't worry too much about it, I'm sure you can resell it for that amount.
