A couple of weeks ago I posted "Amazing Grace" which is the opening tune of a set of about 5 tunes that I plan to perform at a work function in a couple of weeks. Here's the second tune of the set, "Swanee Jig". This is a tune I'd expect most people to be familiar with, so I think it's a good one to perform for an audience unfamiliar with the banjo.

I learned this tune from Tony Trischka, who got it from an old banjo tutorial book. I guess it's really a "classic banjo" piece, but I'm playing it on a bluegrass banjo with steel strings and fingerpicks.

The up the neck stuff is my own addition.

I'd be glad to hear any comments about the arrangement or playing etc.

Nice arrangement. I could hear the melody on both parts. To me the melody seemed clearer up the neck. It could just be me as I have some hearing loss. Your picking is really good. Keep picking. They will be impressed.

Thanks for your feedback, Jeff. I reckon I'll work on getting the down the neck part a little cleaner. It's a little tricky to get all the notes at the right volume with all those pull-offs, but it's a fun tune to play.
