I have been using for some of my builds Rims made by Mark Hickler ,after this 10 years using his rims I have to say how great are Hickler's rims I use them on openback and bluegrass banjo, now most of my customers that wants a bluegrass banjo are ordering them with the Hickler maple and Rosewood tonering.
Mark is great to deal with and the rims are really well build and nice sounding.

Couldn’t agree more, David! I too am a fan of Mark Hickler’s work and have several of his partial resonator rims on openback banjos. He’s a pleasure to deal with, more than fair in his pricing, and does stellar work. (I especially appreciate his knowledge and expertise re tone woods.) Good to see him getting this much deserved recognition.
Great looking banjos, David. Clearly you are doing good things on your own with the Hickler rims.
Mark has helped me more than once. Fine luthier.
Mark has done lengthy experimenting that gives great results to ponder and listen to. These efforts are over the top in comparison to all but few. I know this from his website ,but have never dealt with him.
I have made a couple of necks to go on a couple of his rims for someone and thought the rims were very nice and well made. I have only had very positive dealings with him, and even got to meet him once when he was traveling through the area and was nice enough to stop by.
