Electric Guild Tenor Guitar
Thanks for posting this, David. You always have such great lines in your solos, and you make it look and sound so easy! I know it's not really easy, but you make it sound like it. And a very appropriate song choice, given that autumn is here.
I've been trying to post a video with my new electric tenor guitar, but can't get my little Zoom Q4 video cam to work right (it's probably me). I have a question for you regarding the strings you use, when you need to replace strings on your electric tenor guitar -- do you use regular electric guitar strings, or do you use acoustic tenor guitar CGDA strings? Curious as to what you use, when you need to replace strings on it. Sorry to get a little off-topic, and thanks again for posting this great tune!
Thanks John. I use heavy, flat wound electric guitar strings. I'm not sure of the guages off hand, as I use strings from different sets. I really wouldn't recommend the heavy guage, but the neck on this Guild is really thick, and it seems to handle them "ok".
Can't wait to hear your electric when you get the recording up and running.
Very helpful, thanks for the info David. I'll check out some electric guitar flatwounds. My tenor guitar neck is pretty thin so I'll probably go light or medium gauge.
