GOOD AFTERNOON, DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY FESTIVALS IN FLORIDA WHERE VENDORS ARE SO YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO PLAY DIFFERENT BANJO JUST TO SEE WHAT THEY SOUND LIKE AND WHAT YOU LIKE ABOUT THEM. I SEE THEM ON YOUTUBE VIDEOS AT THE IBMA AWARDS, JUST WANDERING IF THEY SET UP AT FESTIVALS, HOPEFULLY IN FLORIDA.
Usually other banjo pickers will allow you to pick their banjo if you show an interest, ask nicely and be very careful when you pick it. If they say no, don't argue, just go on to the next one and see if he or she is more amenable to your question.
The Music Emporium in Ft. Lauderdale has a nice selection, and the owner is a banjo picker. I enjoyed my visit, and got to play a couple of top end banjos.
