"The Manhattan Minstrel" Born 9/26/1940 - today is my birthday. Eddy Davis playing and singing one of the great Spirituals. It was first mentioned in print in 1876. It was sung in the 1929 film "Showboat". Davis is playing his Custom OME 12" head - 17 fret neck Tenor Banjo. Eddy

Hey you guys, thanks so much for looking and John, you guys sure got that sound down. John Gill has a band in the New York Hot Jazz Festival this coming Sunday where I'm playing with it and your Trombone Player Charlie is playing with us. There is also what they are calling a Banjo Summit, which is myself, Cynthia Sayer and "Blind Boy" Paxton. We'll have to get you up here one of these days to join us John.
