"The Manhattan Minstrel" Eddy Davis playing a tutorial on a very Traditional Hebrew Folk Song. Someone has asked for an explanation of this song that you hear at every Jewish Gathering. Davis is playing his Custom OME 12" head - 17 fret neck Tenor Banjo.
It starts in C major for the first 2 strains then goes to F minor for the last strain. I can put up a lead sheet if anyone would like one. Eddy

Eddy, thanks for the great lesson. I decided to practice this tutorial with the idea of learning a tune that makes an interesting contrast the usual things I would play on the 5 string.

Alas, I thought I had it down into recognizable form, but my wife didn't know what I was playing, saying it sounds like I am just playing chords. "Can't you hear the melody coming off the top string?", I asked. Maybe I need a heavier 'A' string or something.... Or maybe this is an excuse for getting another tenor banjo. Anyway, I always appreciate your tutorials. Joe

Hey my friend, here's a lead sheet -- Just strum the full chord if you like. Any questions? Eddy
