Lester Young is my favorite horn player. I did find some transcriptions of his in a book I'd forgotten about. I tried to catch some of his phrasing, but could only catch some fragments of his unbelievable lines.
David, I love your version of that evergreen. Very nice chords. I also love Prez and his relaxed style. He's also one of my favorite clarinetists. Bird used to say that Lester was his main reference; I heard a solo recorded by Parker while playing in a big band, may be in 1939...almost indistinguishable from Lester!
