How about Hello Dolly for a nice obscure tune of the month? I tried to play this one a few days ago and totally forget it.
I'm such a rookie
Well I think it's just you and me on here David. Here's a recording I did with my band back in Chicago. Not too long after I had played the west coast tour of the musical with "Ginger Rogers".
"The Manhattan Minstrel" Eddy Davis playing a song from Jerry Herman's Musical "Hello Dolly". This CD is entitled "From Broadway To Hollywood" -- (The Life And Times Of Eddy Davis) Volume 2. It was performed on an Epiphone Special Custom Recording A Tenor Banjo.
Eddy, that was as smoothe as a gravy sandwich !!!
It doesn't get any better Eddy. That's such a great rendition. Love the key change. I'll have to keep working on this one.
One of my favorites. That was amazing.
Hey Eddy, it isn’t just you and David but being mostly known as a sort-of bassist I just go unnoticed most of the time. Check out many of the videos of banjo players and you will see that the videographer eventually closes in on the banjo players and loses the bass, guitar and drums asap.
Here's a version I did for this group two years ago. Since then it has had 2,700 views.
Sounds great John! Thanks for posting it up again.
