I connected up someone with drum shell and banjo rim company Cooperman a while back. Perhaps his contact information is now obsolete but he gets no response by email or phone. Any tips?

I'm trying to remember the website for someone who supplies rim blanks in many woods and used to work for Cooperman.  He also sells a very nice stainless steel band clamp.

Now if I could just remember his name!

Perhaps someone else might have his website link...

I had trouble connecting with them once by email. Someone on BHO gave me a phone number, and I got them that way. Turns out my email landed in a spam folder for some reason. I haven't ordered any rims from them in several years because I have been building more banjos out of black walnut than maple, but their rims are very well made.

I will do a search on Cooperman and see if I can find the old post where someone gave me that phone number.

I couldn't find that phone number, but I think it was Dick Guggenheim who gave it to me. I haven't seen him post on BHO in a very long time, I hope he is okay.

Rudy, I think you are trying to recall a fellow named "Lars" (Northern Forrest Products), who is very near Cooperman, and also makes excellent rims. He is the one who made the stainless rim clamp, which looked like it would do the job very well.

Another source for top quality laminated rims in woods other than just Maple is Balsam Banjo works. Their rims are very well made, though a little thinner than I usually like.

Lars is indeed who I was thinking of, but no website link do I have!

Lars Holden no longer does banjo rims that I find. I've called and left a few messages and got nothing back and at one point his website had banjo rims and prices and then it was no longer in his site. Now the site doesn't exist. His business was Northern Forest Music.

I think I still have his phone numbers if you want to PM me.
