Howdy y'all! Does anyone one know of a good, fair priced 5 string banjo teacher in the Dallas area (preferably Dallas, Richardson, plano areas)? I am mainly a classical violinist (I'm the principal chair of my section in my college orchestra) and have a immense love for music and bluegrass. I have been playing banjo off and on for 4 years now and have come to the end of being self taught since I have too many questions and need a lot of refinement! Thanks y'all!

Well Gerald Jones is in the area. Not sure what a fair price is. Also I took lessons from Jim Yaraboro in Gun Barrel City. I thought his teaching was fair price and good.

Thank you so much for your help and for responding so quickly! It turns out the Gerald Jones lives about 10 minutes from me and I have sent him an email. Thanks again!

I too was gonna say The Gerald Jones: I was in some of his workshops at Suwannee Banjo Camp. He's a dandy picker and instructor.

You'll like Gerald. He's a nut and a crazy guy (meant in the best possible way). I've known him for years, used to pick with him at Camp Bluegrass years ago. He kept us all in stitches. Oh, he's also a very good banjo picker and a good teacher. Enjoy!!
