This didn't get the love I hoped for on the Off Topic thread.
Cut down trees or play the banjo?
Thanks for posting. I hope I am still playing the banjo age 92!
I hope I'm still ALIVE when I'm 92!
Great man happy to see this.
I'm very happy to see this happen -- Borgy and I go way back to the club he played up north. He let me play it for a time. Great to see it Borgy. Eddy Davis
I believe my buddy Ernie Mee will agree with me when I say, it's about time! Borgy is one of the finest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing and I'm thrilled to see he's finally getting the recognition he so richly deserves. Congrats sir on all you've given to the 4 string banjo world!!!
I am writing this post on behalf of Borgy. I am currently sitting in his living room with him out here in Victoria, British Columbia. He and his wonderful wife have just this past few weeks had some medical setbacks so my wife and I both hopped on planes to be here to help out. I'm still hoping to get to AllFrets2018 but this family comes first.
It was such a treat to see this post and share it immediately in person with Borgy. He asked me to write to all of you and thank you for your kind words. He is very touched.
He continues to be a teacher, mentor and most of all, dear friend to me.
I sure hope Borgy and his wife are doing better and you are able to join us next week. If not I understand. You and your wife are doing a wonderful thing that does not surprise me a bit!
Thanks for posting this.
Yeah Bob, a mighty big congrats to Borgy, and truly well deserved, for sure and certain!.
The reason I'm a little late with my reply is ....... I was going to attach some photos of Borgy and Eunice, when they visited us in Brisbane in about 1996 I think it was, but I can't find them ...... but when I do, I'll be sure to post a few on this thread. ....... Don.
Hi Don, If you do find any pictures, get them to me and I will make sure Borgy and Eunie get them as well through their son. Borgy and Eunie have spoken more than a few times to ]o-Ann and I regarding their trip to Australia and their stay at your home. Ernie
