"The Manhattan Minstrel" Eddy Davis playing and singing a Pop song written by Ray Evans and Jay Livingston (who wrote the song "Mr. Banjo Man"). It was a #1 hit by Nat "King" Cole for 8 weeks with and arrangement by the great Nelson Riddle. The song won the Academy Award in 1950 from the film "Captain Carey, USA". We play this tune in a New Orleans Jazz style with the Woody Allen Band. Davis is playing his Custom OME 12' head - 17 fret neck Tenor Banjo.
HOW ABOUT A TUNE OF THE MONTH? Eddy
Can it be for June?
I might have some time then.
Hey Mike, you bet -- June sounds great. Eddy
I'll give it a go in June Eddy. I'm on the road spreading asphalt now, but will when I get a chance.
None of my real books contain Mosa Lisa, would you be able to post a lead sheet.
