Who’s in your Final 4?

Did your team make it to the Dance?

Temple is my school. It’s been a couple years since the Owls were in it, so I’ll have to hold my nose and root for ‘Nova (again).

Yep mine did! First time in several years. I've filled out several brackets and don't remember who I had in the final 4, but I do have Virginia winning it all. I have seen them play a lot this year and they are probably the best defensive team in the country and finally have an excellent offense with several great shooters (Guy, Jerome, and Hall). The only think that bothers me about them is that they are a lot like Kansas and seem to buckle pretty early in the big dance. Maybe not this year though. I do have Nova is the final 4 and picked them in one bracket. I also like Arizona and have them in the final 4. I guess the one and done schools have a chance (Ky, Duke, Kansas), but I am going with experience!

Having watched relatively few games [on TV] this year, I'll have to get more media hype [aka "in-depth analysis"] before I jump on a bandwagon.   sad

This is the first year in 33 years that my husband HASN"T talked non-stop about March Madness. In fact, until you mentioned it, I was beginning to think it was canceled. I assume his teams didn't make it and/or none of the schools our nieces and nephews attend are in it. I'm all for the Under Dog! Go Huskies!?! Totally clueless.

I’ve been burned so many times by Virginia!  Hard to trust them.  Same with Xavier. Perennial choke artists!

I’m working on a bracket today.  Think I’ll only do 2  this year…

Is he a Ducks fan?

Oregon has made the tourney pretty often in recent years but they got shut out of it after getting crushed in the PAC12 tournament a few days ago.

Sorry Mander ..... Huskies didn't make it (assuming Univ. of Wash.) !

Yeah Jeff ...how many times has a team like Xavier or UVA got their fans all excited and then lose to a middle of the road team?  Way too much.  I guess that is why the term "wait 'til next year" is so popular.

Basketball holds no interest for me. The NCAA tourney holds even less than that. But I do hope you fans enjoy it, and that every one of your brackets is a one-in-a-million winner.

The usual "bracketology" giving the "talking head" teams the easier road.... Unfortunately for them, they have to deal with "eight" of the poor, downtrodden SEC teams this year! Heard one of the X pro announcers say about three weeks/month ago during one of the analysis deals... discussing those teams for a final four and the top five listed at the time.. "That may be, but none of those teams would want to play any of the 8 or 9th ranked teams in the SEC in the first round"...

Pretty well flat out, an experienced answer... We'll see, Although the SEC teams are all scheduled to play/meet each other, in the lower round games, instead.. (cha... chinge)

As far as KY, It just depends on the mental state of the "Kids", at any given time/game as to what team shows up..

That’s interesting.  Any team you particularly like coming out of the SEC?  Other than KY, of course

Hopefully it won't be the one that USC Gamecocks flogged!

Jeff you have to understand that the SEC is a "mono" conference ...... Other than Kentucky fans in basketball and Alabama fans in football.  For some reason, the bottom feeders think they won the national championship when one of their conference teams does.  If my team doesn't win, I could care less if one of our conference teams win.  As a matter of fact I pull hard against our two traditionally best teams.  I was extremely pleased when Mercer waxed the Duke Blue Devils.

That was bad wording on my part, I just meant who was passing the eye test in that conference all season.  There is no pulling for other teams in your conference. The middled seeded games are always so tough to call.  That's where a lot of these SEC teams are sitting.

Wichita State is in at the 4 seed.  I am not confident of a run.  I think the team learned in this their first year in the AAC, that you have to come to floor every game with your big boy trunks on...including Temple. You worked us over pretty good.  Wichita is hosting a regional, town filling up with folks, Especially KU fans. Almost like a home game for them.  Btad

The BIG word.. "Parity", was a fact in the SEC this year... ANY team in the league could and did beat any of the other teams, top to bottom on any given night... And it wasn't because of weakness, their all strong, unlike some of the other leagues, where there might be a couple of strong teams and maybe one or two also ran teams.. so the rest are usually just show up to help the win column teams...

It would be very hard to pick who else can come up in the Big tourney.. Just about all have a shot.. The mental toughness is the key.. And honest refs, even those from the gentlemens leagues calling "fair fouls", not imaginary, is a biggy, not taking the teams that play defense out of, or controlling the game.. (some horrible examples in the past) Let them play ball..

The Vegas odds give the SEC teams a fair amount of respect too.

Just finished a bracket. Showed the SEC teams some love, and Wichita state is not running too deep.

Maybe this will finally be the bracket that brings it home.
right...

The tourney is fun to matter what, but it is a lot more fun when your team is in it, even if you know they might not be around too long.

Jeff ..... That wasn't bad wording. I was just poking fun at the SEC. Those of us in the middle of SEC country like to do that when out local university starts feeling a little uppity! Perhaps Kenneth is right, but I am not buying the SEC as a basketball conference this year. I guess we are going to find out if their "parity" is because they were all really good or all really bad.

Please Kenneth, you are embarrassing yourself!  Remind yourself that South Carolina who beat UK handily was not good enough to make the NIT.  These NIT games don't prove anything.  However, I am pulling very hard for the Wildcats to beat Scar in football for I think the 4th or 5th time in a row ......go Cats!

PS:  I was pulling for them in basketball too and was highly disappointed in the outcome!

winkNaaaah... just being realistic and what does that funny shaped ball have to do with anything?.. Everybody in Ky knows that its just to fill time and keeps the kids off the streets til the real season begins...

I like Martin and his discipline, and he did have the makins of a good team..  But someone needs to set him down and tell him that the real toughness is putten the ball through that little ring..  Not actting tough and trying to just fight to get an edge..

Tongue-in-cheek, Kenneth, isn't football good training for basketball??   From some of the calls and non-calls I see, sometimes it's hard to differentiate, and with a bit of "rasslin' " thrown in, do you suppose maybe the refs sometimes get confused??  cheeky

I never was much for following the hockey hoops (too busy watching curling) but I’ll go with anything Kentucky. Does Rosine have a team in this hullabaloo?
