The world has lost another brilliant mind. He overcame all odds with ALS and continued to use his mind to further our knowledge of the universe. He had a great sense of humor too, shown in appearances on Start Trek, The Next Generation, The Simpsons, and The Big Bang Theory. How appropriate that he died on Pi day. Rest In Peace Stephen, you are now among the stars.

What an incredible man he was. Amazing that he lived so long with ALS and we're fortunate that he did.

Well said David, Stephen Hawking was indeed an exceptional mind and a man who has pushed, proven and extrapolated the boundaries of science and the universe for many decades.

The interesting thing is that Hawking never received a Nobel prize, but his theories did lead to other peoples work that did get a Nobel.

“I have lived with the prospect of an early death for the last 49 years. I’m not afraid of death, but I’m in no hurry to die. I have so much I want to do first.” RIP

Just like to be a fly on the wall, as he sits and explains to God why he doesn't exist.

Just a passing thought. Chill. RIP Mr. Hawking.

Or She doesn't.

BTW, there was a fake twitter feed this morning from God saying that "Hawking just sat in front of me and proved to me I don't exist"

I remember when Dr. Hawking was first diagnosed with ALS and he could still speak somewhat. He had an assistant that would interpret Dr. Hawking when he was speaking in front of audiences. I told Debbie, "Do you think he really said that?" Then they came up with the computer comm system.

Maybe God is asking him just what the heck he has been talking about all these years, 'cause he can't make heads or tails of it!

Maybe he doesn't have to explain himself to anyone and he is resting in nothing.
