For background please visit

The best example of this 4 Dimensional music concept is to play Rogers & Hammerstein music ( R&H) on a Buckbee banjo ( in double C  or double B tuning).

It has to do with  the "oneness" of  Theresa Vaughn (1863-1903)+  J.H.Buckbee Jr.banjos + Broadway's golden age (1890's) + the music of R&H.

It' s  very interesting and enjoyable to  play R&H on a Buckbee banjo because:

1) The Buckbee banjo helped Theresa transform theater &               Broadway.

2) R&H musical "genetics" is VERY closely related to our earlier Appalachian, minstrel & 19th century burlesque music.

So transitioning from  our earlier music to R&H is a VERY easy  pleasant, strong experience.

When the unmatched ring of the bent wood 19th century Buckbee banjo is connected to R&H's music ....  artistry, beauty, poetry, creativity, romance  and magic can really get dialed up !

Note: The Buckbee was essentially the last of the bent wood banjos. As mass production took over even the most expensive banjos used laminated rims ... plywood !   To get sound back endless tone ring designs were invented. Sound was regained but it became ( and has remained ) cold and metallic ... the Buckbee magic ring was gone.... till now!

Hopefully I'll  soon post new videos to show the 4D concept better. Here is my 1st attempt to show the concept before I named it  4D.

I named this music  4D because it connects, stretches  across the 4th dimension of time by connecting  R&H to it's old roots. This injects a lot of  energy.from the roots. It's a freedom  to escape from being locked into just one of the many moments of time.

The 1880 EXACT Buckbee banjo replicas  I'm producing and my three books on Theresa Vaughn are tools can help this  new musical / cultural / genre to sprout. Hopefully videos now in the works will illustrate this concept.

I'm offering my three books about Theresa Vaughn:

1)  "Theresa Vaughn and the Buckbee banjo",
2)  "1492 Up to Date or Very Near It"
3)  "Little Christopher"
Exact 1880 Buckbee replicas.... Two types now available:
1)  "Silver Ghost" ( Silver-plated rim, hooks, nuts shoes & tailpiece)
2) "Golden Age" ..( Gold-plated rim, hooks, nuts shoes & tailpiece)
Great life, spirit and strength happens from exploring this "oneness"

Hopefully by  May videos presenting this new 4D  music concept will be completed featuring  Stefanie Hoefgen.

She will sing songs that Theresa Vaughn performed and some l Rogers and Hammerstein II music. The Buckbee banjo will be like the connecting time tunnel link of it all. This is a like new music genre or hybrid.

Re. the overall approach:..

I like informal, artistic , poetic and improvisation  and  having friends visit, sing and play this music.

I welcome your thoughts on this..
