Did Vega make a 5 string Vegaphone Professional ?
I believe so. Probably by special order as most of them were tenors at that time.
I have never seen one. I think the five string kept the "Tubaphone NO. 3" name right along. However, Vega seems to have been willing to make just about anything as a special request, so who knows.
I have a reprint copy of the Vega Vegaphone catalogue from 1928. They made tenor, plectrum, regular 5-string,guitar and mandolin banjo styles in the Professional, Soloist, Artist and De Luxe Vegaphone styles. They also did the same for the Vegavox range of banjos.
Truly a wide range of instruments for the players in those days!
