Couple weeks ago I became very weak and eventually unable to get to a standing position.
Called TOGUS and they said come right over where they tested me in various ways.

In the middle of that Maine Med said they wanted me and they put me on an ambulance and whisked me to Portland where I stayed until 3 days ago.

Basis of it all was a flare up of lyme disease that lowered my platelettes to a very low number.
Maine Med kept me until they had them up to 50k.

I ate well there and was deemed strong and well-balanced enough to leave.
I feel much better,now!

Sounds like it was a pretty serious case of Lyme... Glad to hear you are feeling better and home for Christmas. I take it you had no idea of the presence of Lyme infection? Anyway, welcome home and Merry Christmas.

Yikes! Glad you are on the mend.
I know too many people here in Maine that are affected by Lyme.
Good thing they got it when they did.

Hope to see more posts from you!

Glad to see you back on BHO. We are very concious of Lyme disease here in Northern Wisconsin and Michigan UP. Always use bug spray in the woods and shower as soon as we get in from the woods and check for ticks. Everyone seems to know someone who has been bit.
Wife found a bulls eye rash and we headed for the doc, they put her on some strong antibiotics even before they got a positive test back.
Lyme disease tests are not accurate so by default they start meds just in case.

Those darn deer ticks. They don't bite, they suck!

Glad you're feeling better Steve.

I had a bought with a tick 15 years ago and was told at that time that I now had lyme disease.
It lays dormant and may or may not ever give more trouble. It did so with me and now am more vigilant about warning signs.

Glad you are "well-balanced" and able to escape from hospital. Does this mean that your bridges will be more balanced than they already are? And will your playing will be even more well balanced?

Welcome back.  I actually sent a “health and welfare” e-mail to have someone check on you, just in case your corpse was decomposing on your kitchen floor or something.

Hey Tom. Steve gets more respect around here than someone that will kick a guy when he's down.

Just sayin'.

You are seeing it different than it was meant, where and how was this respect measured, that you are speaking of besides in your own mind .I did not really paint him in a scene he has not mentioned the enjoyment of,or that I have cast stones at.

I joke and throw things like that at folks I like.

Just saying is not a complete statement, has no object ,I can only guess at what the object is.

I was not the least bit worried, when someone mentioned your LACK of postings.
But now that I know how bad it WAS, I'm worrying, retroactively AND uselessly.
