Our band is working on "Ballin' The Jack, a 1913 oldie but goodie. In visits to YouTube for inspiration, I watched a clip of Danny Kaye sing the song in "On the Riviera," a 1954 movie. The clip begins with another person singing the same song in French, which I thought was different and VERY cool.

My web searches so far for a set of French lyrics to this tune have been unsuccessful, although apparently French lyrics were copyrighted at some point. Does anybody have a source or a clue as where and how I might obtain these? Thanks in advance, SETH

I think this might be what you are looking for. I found it here http://fr.lyricsfeast.com/paroles-ballin-the-jack-de-fats-domino-traduction-francais.html I google translated the lyrics and it seems right, but can't promise that this isn't an already google-translated version of the English lyrics.

Étirez Your Lovin 'bras droit dans l' espace

Balancez votre pied chemin 'rond et mettre' em back
Voilà ce que j'appelle, "Ballin 'Jack"

I would never trust a Google translation. Feed the French back through into English, and I'll lay odds you get something strange.

It actually turns out pretty good, that's why I'm not sure if the French version above was only a Google translate from the beginning or not. Google translate has gotten a whole lot better recently though, for what it's worth.
