Can anyone help with the tabs for the theme song from the movie, La La Land?

Here is someone playing it on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuJ1P-SgTNM

Thanks!

-Brent

P.S. I've seen tabs available for other instruments. Maybe it is possible to convert it to banjo?

How do you want to play it? Scruggs, clawhammer, do you have a tenor or plectrum banjo? The guy in the video isn't playing a real banjo it's a 6-string banjitar/guitjo...but it plays exactly like a  guitar, if you can find guitar tab for this, get it. That's your best bet if you want to play it like this guy is.

Hi Mike,

Sorry for not clarifying. I was looking for a Scruggs style for a 5-string banjo. I'm still a beginner/intermediate, so I was mostly looking for the melody.

That video was the only one I saw with a banjo, so maybe it wasn't the best example.

Thanks

Hmm... Maybe I should get a banjitar/guitjo as there are more tutorials out there for guitar especially for "pop" songs. Thoughts? I think the banjo gives modern songs a unique sound, but unfortunately I'm not at the level where I can write my own tabs.

Here's a thought...you can play any song on a banjo if you can figure out how to play things on the banjo. How do you do that? LEARN THE BANJO. Just because there isn't a tutorial for this or that song, doesn't mean it can't be played. If you want to learn to play Banjitar because you want a different sound than guitar, you're still going to have to learn how to play guitar, so you can learn how to play that as well. Guitars are very versatile and used in a lot of songs, I don't think that forcing a banjo sound onto guitar music is a very good idea, but to each his own...either way you're going to eventually learn how to play an instrument.

I found a nice piano arrangement for this song at: City of Stars (YOUTUBE)

I tabbed out the piano solo so you can play along with the video: City of Stars (PDF)

Great song !

Thanks. I really appreciate you taking the time to tab it out.

Yea, I've decided to stick with the banjo.
