I am a big fan of Gold Stars and have been hearing for several months about new or updated models in the works. Anything happening? Any updated timeline for production and availability?

There is a new JD Crowe model that should be out (or soon):

Since I am doing wishful thinking here, I would love to see a GF300 with either full flying eagle OR hearts and flowers inlay AND Granada style engraving in addition to gold plating.😊 Just saying... YMMV

I was wondering why all the Gold Star banjos are not shown in Saga's latest catalogue.....The only one I see is the new J.D Crowe model.

Whew, they are hanging some prices on them too (or I'm just old and outdated?)

So, to keep this topic current. Does anyone have information on what the updates to Gold Star banjos will be and/or when the updated models will be available? I expect tha MAP prices will continue to rise...

Last weekend was the Summer NAMM show, ANY updates would have been promoted there and then

There is a video on YouTube with a jam of Saga made instruments at the Summer NAMM show. A young man is playing a Gold Star banjo. Looks like a GF-85 or the new JD Crowe model, but no information is listed. FWIW.

I had an 05 GF 100, back in 06, for a while. It sounded great, at times. But, it would just go away at times, too. I never figured out why. I sold it, and bought an American made expensive banjo.

I find it super annoying that the reissue Gold Star mahogany with the "better" tone ring rather than the cheaper, base tone ring, is not available with a rosewood soundboard, and you can only get the better tone ring with an ebony board.   Or . . . has that been recitified?

Just one of the many questions I have and thus my question here about upgrades, changes, additions to the lineup, etc... I have owned a couple of Gold Stars and really like...one a mid 80s GF100 wreath and the other a 2009 GF200-1952. I believe the maple GF200s and GF300s both have rosewood fingerboards if I am remembering correctly.
