Notes: I learned this ballad from Obray Ramsey’s “Folksongs of the Three Laurels” album. This is a thumb-lead two finger rendition, which corresponds closely to how he played it. The tuning is standard G, but pitched down a half step to the key of F# (same as the recording). The chords are just the standard 1, 4, and 5 chords, so if you wanted to play this in G, the chords would be G, C, and D.
