Notes: NYC is very nice tune that was written by Tony Trischka, who recorded it in the mid-1980s. It has been rattling around in my brainpan for quite some time, and I finally committed it to tablature. My tab of the tune is not identical to Tony's version, but it does follow it fairly closely. Note that, to my ear at least, Tony tunes the fifth string to F#, although it also could be tuned to A or even G. If I got it wrong I am sure someone will correct me. Note also the lovely descending note pairs in measures 14 and 15. For some reason I find that passage really moving.

Awesome tune , Thanks for sharing your awesome tabs . I also like that descending note pairs in measures 14 and 15. I'm going to have to put that into some song I already pick . :) I wonder if I could change the notes from D to A and find them in G to D for the last part of Foggy Mt Break Down . :)

I am glad you like it! You can transpose the passage to the key of G, starting it at the first string 9th fret and second string 8th fret. However, to me the run sounds too bright or happy, whereas FMB sounds dark and even angry. But give it a try.

Your right, I transposed it and it didn't fit as well live, as it did in my head . I'll find a home for it in something I pick . Thanks for posting your Great tabs .
