Genre: Folk  Style: Unknown/None Chosen  Key: C  Tuning: Drop C (gCGBD)  Difficulty: Intermediate
Posted by janolov, updated: 10/5/2020
Download: TABLEDIT | PDF | MIDI [Play] [Download]

Notes: This is an attempt to get some West Indian rhythms into the old tune Sloop John B. The first part shows a strumming pattern 1 Brush down with hand 2 Brush down with thumb 3 Brush up with index 4 Brush down with hand 5 Brush down with thumb 6 Brush up with index 7 Brush down with hand 8 Brush up with index If there is eight 1/8 notes in a measure the brush down with hand is emphasized or the 1, 4 and 7 note. The second part is a kind of clawhammer, also giving the emphasizing on 1, 4 and 7 note. A lot of drop thumb is involved and the drop thumb on note 4 should be loud.
