Notes: The «deacon from hell» is a french-canadian tune that is very modal going back and forth between major and minor, it is also very crooked. 'Legend has it that Thomas Pomerleau, (the composer of this tune), promised a priest that he would throw his violin into the stove in order to receive absolution. He actually threw his violin into the stove and, having received his absolution, immediately withdrew it ... he had taken the precaution not to light the stove'.
