Notes: Old Rattler played in the Key of D. Page 1 from standard G tuning, capoed 2, page 2 from Drop C tuning, capoed 2. Grandpa Jones ususally had his banjo tuned to A, so he played without a capo in the key of C

Further note. The 1st version did not post. The Grandpa Jones Youtube is embedded in the PDF file. I suppose Grandpa could have been playing in Drop D (Drop C tuned up 2 frets). I find it simpler to play it in C and capo 2. It may not have quite the ring as the Grandpa Jones version, but it's close enough. I added some alternate drop-thumb measures for advanced players.
