Easy to play and simple arrangement that sounds good. This is easier to play than many beginner songs, but has a little variation and a sprinkling of simple hammer-ons and pull-offs to keep it interesting. Still, the lyrics are the star of the show in this tune, so the arrangement should be simple. Includes the full lyrics, not the sanitized Burl Ives version but the original with "cigarette trees" and "little streams of alcohol come trickling down the rocks." The numbers on the tab are a bit small--I hand copied the tab onto bigger tab paper so I could read it. Younger eyes shouldn't have a problem with them.

Excellent arrangement for the beginner banjo singer. I have struggled linking lyrics with rolls but this composition is so simple that I am much more proficient starting out. And I love that it's in G tuning with C capo. The PDF could have been better quality though. It looks like it's a photo copy that didn't quite get all the music staff portion copied, which is important to know how to sing it properly, but hopefully the song is familiar to most who attempt it.
