Ian, I believe you captured the essence of that tune. Most banjo versions I've seen and heard of Ashokan Farewell are to busy with finger rolls dancing around the melody, the simplicity of your version playing mostly the melody is moving. I believe thats what the song is all about. Good show mate.

I heard this tune for the 1st time today at a folk jam session played by an outstanding fiddle player. Your version is as close to what I heard today. Can't wait to get stuck into learning it. Thank you for sharing.

A beautiful arrangement of this beautiful piece of music. I first heard it on Netflix the Civil War. Took a lot of searching to find the title and composer but well worth it.
