Could someone help me out with an explanation of the lefthand fingering abbreviations. M is for middle finger? I is for index finger? What about O? Is that the ring finger? What does A stand for? Thanks for your help.

A and O are ring finger and pinky respectively. I believe they come from the French. I'm not sure if you're using TEFView or the full version of Tabledit, but I know in Tabledit you can change the letters to other things if they suit you better. Just open Options and then go to the Preferences tab.
