Notes: An a cappella piece from "Strictly Arnold", kind of like a minor themed Home Sweet Home. I suppose the song title is in reference to Andy Boarman...perhaps Boarman played HSH in a similar fashion. At any rate, use the original recording for reference, since Tabledit is a computer app, and Jimmy was human.

Note: measures 11 and 15 show both the open G and D string E note struck simultaneously. The E is a dead note, and not played, but having it there makes it sound "right". Lots of inventive scale ideas, and a couple of things that are definitely unique. have fun with it!

Performance notes: This may or may not be how Bill fingered it, but it was the easiest way for me to get the notes. in measures 3, 11, and 27, barre with the index finger on the 9th fret, and use the ring to get the notes on the 11th fret.

Notes: I believe this to be Jimmy's first recorded instrumental. From what I've gathered, he was 17-18 years old. Bandmate Wesley Golding provided the guitar lead. I have transcribed this as capo at 1, but am not certain that they weren't tuned slightly sharp from standard, and the transfer from analog to digital did the rest. Use your own judgment.

I thought the intro was a combination of triplets, but the exceptional ear of howsy-bee (Hans Holzherr) pointed out my mistake(s)! Notes: Capo 2. From the "Strictly Arnold" album. Some liberties were taken, notably with the last break. I'm not one to judge, but I believe the alcohol had kicked in by this point at the recording session...listen to the original slowed down, and you'll see what I mean. Still, a fun tune, and it has some signature licks in there.

A friend of mine from YouTube asked how I would arrange this tune. This is pretty much the way I've always played it. Tony Trischka's Banjoland album was my first exposure to this Monroe instrumental, and as a kid, I tried to play it just like he did. Of course it evolved over time.

Notes: An old standard, covered by the Country Gentlemen (Eddie Adcock) and before them, Les Paul. I tried to incorporate some of the iconic (to me) parts, whether it be Waller's chromatic guitar riff, Duffy's opening mando notes and quasi-bendy thing, Adcock's single string work, or Ben Eldridge's Scruggsy break. There is also a scalar descending thing from Bela, some of my own musings, and Les Paul's dramatic ending. Have fun with it, and make it your own!

Notes: A mishmash of styles here. I used Michael Corcoran's tab as a template (with his permission) as it was very similar to how I play it. The first 2 breaks are a combination of my and Michael's ideas. For the 3rd break, I asked Hans Holzherr to throw one out there, and he obliged. The last break is ideas borrowed from Scott Vestal's playing. As always, use the tab as a gateway to your own way of playing it. Have fun!
