Where Purchased: Purchased from Randall Wyatt
While I’ve tried a fair number of different picks over the years I don’t consider myself an expert. I am a mediocre banjo player and have been playing almost exclusively one brand of picks for several years. I recently wanted to try something new so I bought a set of Wyatt’s picks. I am really happy with them. Looking at Wyatt’s picks they are nicely shaped with a wider blade than my other picks.
I really like these picks for a number of reasons. First, they are beautifully made and arrived in perfect condition. Second, they feel great on my fingers, straight out of the mailer. Third, they sound great to me. Finally, I really like purchasing something directly from the person responsible for making them and Randall seems a straight up, nice man.
I have always felt that picks are a personal thing so I can only speak for myself. I like these picks a lot and intend to use them as my main picks. While I can’t claim that they make me a great banjo player, I am really happy with my purchase.

John repaired a resonator sidewall from a banjo of mine that was damaged during shipment. The work required him to do a structural repair, and then match the stain and finish of the rest of the banjo. John spent a great deal of time making sure that the repair was essentially invisible to the eye. It was obvious in dealing with John that he is personally invested in properly repairing the instruments in his care. It was also very important to him that I was pleased with the resulting repair, which I most definitely was. Since I live essentially across the country from his shop, it was very reassuring to have someone working on my banjo that I could trust to do a professional job. I would recommend his work without reservation. Thanks, John!
