Mr. Smith installed this for me and set up my banjo (Deering Goodtime Special)- I'm very happy with the capo and setup. It's very simple to use.

This is the first mute I've used. I just started playing a little bit ago, and I am a little worried about the banjo affecting my marriage. I am impressed with this mute - it reduces the sound level dramatically and makes the banjo have a "sweet" sound. For me, it's worth the money.
One thing I found on my Deering Goodtime Special: let the mute angle toward the tailpiece (not perpendicular to the bridge / main strings). I had some buzzing at first, but I was trying to force the mute to lay flat across the top of the bridge. This isn't necessary. Once I realized this, I was very happy with the mute.
