Such a fantastic banjo. I bought a Nechville soon as I heard about how customizable they are, and having almost zero experience with banjos I called Tom up and placed an order. It suits what I like to do (claw&scruggs) just fine. The more I play other upper end banjos the more I enjoy my Nechville even more. I've still yet to find one that I would spend the same amount of money on. The main thing I also notice is the variety of tone I can get anywhere from super warm to ear piercingly bright. I love everything about this banjo.

Coming from guitar, I am VERY picky about setup. The banjo came a bit too high for my taste, but because it's a Nechvillle, it took literally 10 seconds to change it. The only changes I have done was change the head from the Renaissance to a Coated weather King (super easy.. HELIMOUNT!!) and install a custom humbucker (super easy)

Cmon. Curly maple. Sunburst. Ebony. Black binding. Space themed inlays. End. It's gorgeous.
Everything came out of the box perfect. Again, I'm nitpicky and i can't find any errors worth mentioning.

It's perfect.

Lifetime warranty. There is a large story behind this banjo, but ultimately it did come down to their service that sold me.

Standout components: the entire banjo.
I feel like these questions are meant to review the 1970''s aria banjos and not a professional quality instrument. Goofballs:)

Just do it. Just buy one. If you're stuck in the past and won't give something new, unique and amazing a try than keep on playing your (insert any other brand) and be a lame old timer. The more I hear people complain about the cosmetics, lack of adjustment, balance, and of course the weight of their banjo, the more I keep saying Nechville.
