Crystal clear all the way up the neck. Outstanding sustain sound. The fourth string has a beautiful clear low growl. It has nice volume but not to harsh.

Sound Rating: 10

John Drumond and his staff did an outstanding job setting it up. It has a nice high action. Its light to play. Perfect right out of the box. The banjo was shipped to me overseas. John's crew packed it perfectly. Utstanding job.

The burl-walnut is absolutly beautiful. It has a deep rich dark color with very fine checker inlay up the neck and two bands around the resonator. The abalone and mother of pearl in lay on the neck is very colorful and catches the light very nicely. The nickel finish is flawless. Everyone who sees this banjo for the first time always comments on it appearence.

I would imagine this banjo will last forever. Its truley a work of art. You can feel the quality as soon as you pick it up. Its solid and has nice weight to it. It feels good in your hands and is truly a joy to play.

Overall Comments

This banjo in my opinion is underpriced. The workman ship and detail that was put into it is second to none. I love my banjo. I spend about 3 hours a day playing it. I have to make myself put it down. I have been in the market for a new one for a few months. I've play a Stelling, Virginian, Stelling Red Fox, Gibson RB-250. Its considerably more affordable then the Stellings and in my opinion has a better sound. In case you couldn't tell I'm very pleased with the Wildwood Artist. I would recommend it to any one at any playing level.
