Just bought this banjo last week so that I'd have something to take on the road with me when I drive from our home in Mi to SD to visit the Daughter and her Family. I paid $439 for it and I really don't know how one can go wrong for this amount of money. It certainly isn't a high end name brand banjo, but with a bit of tweaking, new strings, bridge, and a complete go over in tighening the head/neck/tuners/tail piece and the such it doesn't sound bad at all.

No, banjo was not set up but as stated above, with a bit of work, strings, bridge and the such, your ready to go. And besides, I kind of like tweaking and fooling with em.

Hardware is acceptable. Tuners.....ahh. I believe that the finish would hold up fairly decent. If I was playing gigs,(and had the ability), I'd have a back up.

I believe the finish is the best all around standout...........the tension hoop, tone ring, and the such is very acceptable for this price range.

I really don't think you can go wrong in having an entry level banjo such as this because it is very reasonable and does a respectable job for the investment.
Perfect for the beginner as one can pick on it for a few years and then move up to a higher end five and more than likely get all of their money back......how can one go wrong !
