Great sounding banjo,has a bright tone with no tone ring.It suits my different styles I use from Clawhammer through 3 finger Dock Boggs style. Heck I even play Reno style on it and it shines like gold.

This is one of my favorite Banjos ever, and I mean ever. I play all types of styles of banjo and the internal resonator gives me that bell like quality tone that is sweetness to my ears. Mellow but Bright. like the sound of rain pouring down on a tin roof. Soothing to the ears.

Doc listens to his buyers. I told him I wanted the banjo to be set up low to play all my styles on it since I am not into the Round Peak style set up and want to play melodic banjo. What I got in the end is a great banjo with a great setup.

The banjo pot is wenge, the resonator is wild cherry,and the fret board is ironwood which makes a great looking banjo. For tone ring I picked a Granadillo tone ring which is an amazing tone ring to use for a wide range of sound.

Doc makes all of his hardware to last not only my life time but for my kids and theirs as well to when i am dead and gone. Very sturdy and great hard ware.

Not only did I get a great Banjo from a great maker but in the end I made a great friend in Doc. What this world needs in more makers is guys like Doc making Banjos. Just a wonderful person who is the real deal.
