Excellent clawhammer banjo. Has what I would describe as a warm but crisp sound. The Dobson tone ring and 12" pot add the perfect amount of volume. So far I've done nothing to the setup the banjo came with, and don't see myself doing so.

The banjo came set up with new strings, medium action. It sounds and feels great to me so I don't see myself changing the bridge or strings (until they are played out, obviously).

The banjo arrived in excellent shape. No inlay on the neck. The banjo is walnut, with a spun-over rim. It's a simple looking, but striking banjo.

Patrick Heavner was very easy to work with. He quickly (and patiently!) responded to any questions I had. He completed the banjo within the time frame he gave me, and shipped it very quickly and safely.
