This is an open back that I enjoy playing clawhammer on, with enough volume to be able to play BG style also. It has a nice mellow tone.

Sound Rating: 10

This was set up when I got it and I have not had to make any changes.

It has a walnut pot with rosewood fretboard. The hardware is engraved and looks beautiful. The inlay work is MoP.

It seems that this banjo is very reliable and it is definitely my "weapon" of choice at this point. I have a Vega that I was playing BG music on at home, but have been putting on my picks with the Cameron and playing lately, because it sounds great and is lighter in weight. The Vega is louder but for just plinking I don't need loud.

Reliability Rating: 10

I can't see anything that needs upgrading on this banjo. It holds its tune very well and is lightweight enough to play for long periods of time. It has a Grover compensated bridge on it and sounds really great.

Overall Comments

I like playing this banjo AND I like looking at it. It's pleasant on the eyes and the ears. It beats out my RK-80 by far and my Vega by a little.

Overall Rating: 10

Mutes: Mike's Banjo Mute

Where Purchased: From Mike

Overall Comments

Got this mute because my right ear was too sensitive to the loud sounds from picking my Vega w/ Tubaphone ring. It is great to be able to play without discomfort. Also love the tone of the banjo with the mute on.

Overall Rating: 10
