VERY even all over the neck. Great bottom and the trebles just sparkle. At my first jam session with it, all the players were very impressed with the sound -- especially right out of the box. Since then, it's gotten even better.

The action was fairly low, but there were no buzzes. Even with the low action, the tone was there. The included torque wrench is a nice touch. I've adjusted the head a few times after it's settled in. Got the "speed neck" option and love it.

This is my first mahogany banjo. The woods and finish are beautiful. Kinda wish the rosewood fingerboard was a tad darker to show off the inlays, though. Everything is tastefully done. Had to look real hard to find any flaws. The only one I found was a very slight rough spot at the neck heel.

This banjo should outlast me, hopefully.

Steve can be tough to get in touch with (he's real busy, I know), but is always willing to handle any questions or concerns and wants his product to be perfect.

Certainly, the Huber tone ring is the heart of the banjo, but everything is about perfect. Again, I love the "speed neck" finish. The tuners work well.

A couple of my friends have purchased, or plan to purchase, a Huber after playing mine. After over 20 years of playing an old J.D. Crowe Gold Star, I didn't think I really needed another banjo. Am very glad I got this one, though. Some of my jamming buddies think it's made me a better player. The neck feels great and the tone is incredible. Steve's definitely got the process nailed down. That's it, I'm done buying banjos now!

Plenty of bottom, yet clear up the neck. Suitable for both melodic and Scruggs stuff. I like it better than the pre-war flathead I used to own. My opinion, but agreement from by several other players.

Have messed with the setup over the years. Installed a Sullivan ring in it a few years after purchase, but later installed a Huber ring. Have considered re-installing the original ring, but really like the current sound.

Very few flaws. Looks like J.D.'s Granada. Classic beauty. While the maple resonator wood is gorgeous, the neck wood isn't as nicely figured.

It's held up great over the years. The wood looks like new. The gold isn't bad. Still looks like J.D.'s Granada. Have had frets replaced, but that's about it.

UPS cracked the flange during shipping to Huber and Saga couldn't get me a replacement. That's the only contact I've had with the company.

Real mother of pearl tuning buttons I've been told. Dyed Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Fairly heavy banjo. Except for the armrest, the gold has held up well over the years.

This had been my baby for over 35 years. Have had many requests to sell it, but it's a keeper. Got a Huber Lancaster 1/05 and the JD was given a rest for a while. I brought the JD out of retirement a couple of years ago and it's once again my main axe for stage and jam sessions.
