The banjo came fitted with older strings and the initial sound was a little dull as expected. Though Tommy provided for free a few sets of strings and a couple different bridges for me to try. A string change made all the difference and the sound is bright with a bit of plunk. This is an 11.5" openback pot which I think provides agreat half way point sound between the 11" and 12" pots which predominate the market.

Tommy shipped the banjo without having a bridge installed, purposefully so as to better travel the distance to Australia. I simply set the bridge that was that. The action was perfect for my clawhammer style

This a beautiful banjo. The original curly maple pot is circa 1920's, Tommy restored to its former glory beautifully. The custom made curly maple neck matches perfectly with the pot. The workmanship is second to none.

Being from the other side of the planet, I never once felt like I was taking a risk buying from Tom. Tom went out of his way for me so many times I ended up losing count. I will fondly remember my experience dealing with George Banjos until my dying day.
