Sounds fantastic. Exactly like a Maple banjo should sound. Very responsive to setup changes and has a nice long "sweet-spot" for your right hand. I will reserve the 10 rating because I know there is probably a better banjo out there, but I've never played it, and I could never afford it.

I purchased it through a third party who had it set up for themselves so I tweaked it quite a bit from there.

Great neck. Great hardware. Beautiful wood.

This banjo was a steal at this price. If you get the chance to own one, you will probably love it. If someone stole it, I would find them, rip their arms off, and beat them to death with the bloody ends. I would compare it in quality a little nicer than a Deering Calico or OME Sweetgrass, both of which I played when considering the purchase.
