Sound

This banjo has a deep, resonant sound particularly suited to low tunings. It is unusual in that it is hex shaped and made from reclaimed flooring from the Dan River Textile Mill in Virginia. I am very pleased with the tone and resonance and is exactly what I hoped for.

The hex banjo came with two bridges, the set up was excellent right out of the box. Ne need for any changes

Appearance

I am drawn to this banjo because of it's unique stylings, I am especially appreciative of Tyler Burke's sense of asthetics. All of his banjos are unique and are worthy of your consideration. This banjo is certainly one of a kind. I love the reclaimed wood, his Pete Ross" inspired headstock and the over all composition. It looks like a functional piece of art.

Overall Comments

This is a wonderful banjo that I enjoy immensely,  I smile every time I look at it.  I readily show it to others, even none banjo people, they quickly respond with admiration about the design, functionality, unique nature,  re-purposed materiel as well as big smiles when they hear it played and realize it is an great example of a gestalt experience, the the whole being greater that the sum of the parts.  I would recommend looking at Tyler's banjos in that I think he is on the rise and this is a chance to buy from a builder who will quickly rise in the ranks of boutique builders.  http://www.renanbanjos.com/?page_id=421        https://www.facebook.com/renanbanjos/?fref=ts
