Where Purchased: Direct from Bart
I e-mailed Bart for input on which of his bridges would be right for my OME Triple-X (wih Silverspun tone ring). He suggested two possibilities, and I tried both. Although it was a close race, the winner was his Mystery/Ebony bridge.
The new bridge keeps all the bass, adds top end sparkle (but no harshness) and helps every note pop even more than before, and it was also good at that. Most important, it clears up a "nasal" quality in the upper midrange. The conventional maple/ebony bridge that I had on it (also a fine bridge, but more suited to a Mastertone-type banjo) sounds muddy.
This banjo always sounded good, now it sounds exceptional.
The most amazing thing is how small these bridges are -- they are physically thinner and not as widespread as the typical bridge, but there is nothing small about the sound. Thanks, Bart!
