I am new to banjo but I know the value of a good instrument to the learning experience. This instrument sounds great w' plenty of volume.

Banjo was not set-up well. There was a neck buzz and the tailpiece pulled the bridge downward into the top, affecting intonation.
I made adjustments with my limited knowledge and it is great now.

the seam on the back of the resonator is not paralell to the neck. not a big deal but for asthetics it should line-up.

This is a great keeper banjo! It has made learning banjo much easier than I though it would be. I would not recommend for a first instrument ,
(too heavy for woodshedding). I would buy the same thing if stolen.
While I was fortunate with this purchase I do not recommend buying instruments sight unseen, better to play them first.
