I bought a 1927 TB-4 that needed a 5-string neck. Don helped me put together a killer pre-war parts banjo a few years back, so I knew exactly who to talk to. He gave me frequent updates and photos showing the progress of the new neck. He had the neck ready when he said it would be. And it is a beauty of a neck! The shape and finish feel great in my hand. The inlays are flawless. The binding on the neck matches the resonator perfectly, which is no easy task. He even put a matching pre-war button on the 5th string tuner. To top it off, he selected a bridge and set it up so that it sounds better than I thought possible for an arch top. I consider myself very fortunate to live within driving distance of Don Bryant. If you need a new neck, I highly recommend contacting Don.

I brought Don a "mutt" of a banjo. It consisted of a bunch of parts that I had cobbled together over the course of a year. Some of the parts didn't even fit correctly. I knew it had potential, but it was essentially unplayable when I gave it to him. Not only did he get everything fitted together and playable, he set it up so that it produces an incredible tone. I don't think I've ever had a banjo that sounded this good when played in A or B with the capo. The outcome exceeded my expectations. You can bet I will be taking all of my future luthier work to Don.
