Looks pretty in a home made way. I stained it a med brown/pecan. The mahogany wood neck is very clear and straight grained and took the stain nicely.

I'd say that you just can't go wrong building this kit as it has a zero nut and all you need fuss with is the bridge placement which is pretty easy.

My second build of the basic banjo kit. This one went together in less than an hour. All the holes were pre drilled. I just put everything on it, glued it up and set it aside for a day.
Strung it up the next day and placed the bridge.
Awesome. light weight, great action and a beautiful sound.

The Spillway Dam Bridge is a brilliant design that is masterfully crafted.Don's customer service is first rate too. He made me a custom bridge with 46mm spacing for clawhammer style picking that was the perfect height for my banjo.
Its a joy to play,sounds great, it looks beautiful, and I received it quickly.
