Sound

bright sounding with a deep 4th string,perfect for bluegrass.not stelling loud but right in there..

Setup

when i got the banjo,it was set up and ready to go,action is low without a buzz.only change i have made is i added scruggs/keith tuners to 3rd and 2nd strings and filed down the bridge so that the grooved part on top is very thin instead of flat.

Appearance

banjo looks awesome,not overly fancy,flange is really the selling point to me as far as looks go.nickle finish.no scratches or flaws

Reliability

i have some finish problems on the peg head where the inlay is and some finish wear in the neck from all the tunes i have picked,but hay, this banjo is close to 32 years old.when i got it new,it was flawless eyecandy.

life time warranty,talked to them this year about getting a new sweetgrass and they were beyond great,great service and a great company.

Components

tuners are heavy duty and the ome flange is just too cool looking,the whole banjo is just wel built and sturdy,neck is fairly thin and feels good in your hand,not like the thick necks of cheaper banjos i have held.

Overall Comments

i strongly suggest you call the ome factory and talk to them on your next banjo purchase,i love this banjo and compaired to other banjos i have played,this still cant be beat

2016 update

Still picking this banjo full time and now the sound is out of this world, the banjo looks great and aged. Love this banjo and it will be handed down to my sons one day and will be played long after I am gone. :)
