I'm giving this mute a ten, because it has made my life so much easier. We live in a quite small home and are usually within earshot of each other. I can clamp the mute on and hammer away without disturbing anyone. The mute makes my banjo about as loud as an acoustic guitar, but still has lots of sustain. I would recommend Mike's mute to anyone without reservation. I ordered the mute on a Sunday night and had it in my hands 8 days later. Great service and a great product.
