I am writing to you folks, who are like me and have a cheapo banjo and want to see if an upgrade will help.

I bought a Red Ambrosia Maple bridge, Crowe spaced, standard top.

I have to say it makes a HUGE difference.  I play the Washburn B-9 "canjo".  It has no wood rim, no tone ring.  Just an all aluminum body to attach a head and resonator.  Not bad for $125, but does sound like a $125 banjo.

After putting the bridge on, I noticed an immediate improvement in tone, sustain, note separation and just "color" from the banjo.

My banjo still doesn't sound like a Deering Saratoga Star, but it sounds a whole lot better than it did.  It was very much worth the $20-something investment!

Highly recommend getting one to stretch your investment to the next level - no matter what you have.

Tim's bridges sound great. I have purchased 3 different ones to experiment with and all of these sound terrific. I replaced a snuffy smith with one and I could tell a large difference in volume. Also Tim is a very nice guy to deal with.
