CAPOS MUSIC Music Store Reviews

I found Capos through a for sale ad they had on the Hangout and thought I would look them up. I've dealt with other banjo places and really knew nothing about Capos. I already own two nice openback banjos but both were too heavy to keep on my back during all the traveling I do. I looked for a lighter weight instrument and contacted Emory at Capos. They had a deal on a Goodtime openback with a frailing scoop that had guitar style tuners. I do not like them at all, so I sent Emory a set of nice planet tuners I had lying around to install for me. Not only did he do a great job on swapping them out for me but didn't charge to do it. He also installed a couple of spikes and again, no charge. Banjo came today and it looks great. I was never fond of the Goodtime banjos but this has changed my mind. I wouldn't hesitate doing business with them again.

I had a very enjoyable experience with Gill at Capo's Music Store in Virginia. I purchased a banjo from him that was posted in the classifieds section, and everything went very well!

The item was delievered as expected.

I purchased the banjo on a Monday (maybe it was a Tuesday?) and I received it on Friday.

Gill spent time with me on the phone and developed a relationship, and offered advice on the instrument.

10/10. Looking forward to doing business again!

These folks are located in Abingdon, VA, which is a really cool town in western VA. They get a great rating because I drove an hour each way to leave a really nice banjo for them to sell on consignment, and they sold it. I thought enough of them to leave them one of my good tenor guitars and a rough mountain banjo (which is actually really cool). As for the store, it has a lot of instruments and extras to offer. They had a really fine collection of vintage consignment instruments, which is why I drove so far to work with them. Everyone there is nice as can be, plus they seem to really know their stuff. By the way, they have a nice jam there every Saturday night. I haven't been yet, but I've heard about it, and I hope to go one day soon when my wife and I make a trip to Abingdon to see another play at the Barter Theater, which is great. That's it.
